R-9815 RESOLUTION NO. .2.8..l.5.. (CCS) (City Council Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA ADOPTING THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Element is an optional element of the General Plan and was prepared in conformity with the requirements of Government Code Section 65302( e); and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, in conjunction with the Landmarks Commission, conducted duly noticed public hearings and unanimously forwarded a recommendation for approval of the Historic Preservation Element to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted duly a noticed public hearing on December 18, 2001, and conceptually approved the Historic Preservation Element with minor modifications; and WHEREAS, a Notice of Preparation of a Negative Declaration for the Historic Preservation Element of the General Plan was issued in July 6, 2002; and WHEREAS, the Negative Declaration was circulated for a 30-day public comment period; and WHEREAS, no comments were received during the public comment period; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted public hearings on September 11, 2002, and October 2, 2002, to consider a recommendation for ~. {JG51 adoption of the Negative Declaration and voted (VOTE COUNT) to recommend adoption of the Negative Declaration; and WHEReAS, the City pounc.i"ft.lHy~.and adopted the Negative Declaration for the Historic Preservation Element; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held public hearings on September 11, 2002, and October 2, 2002, to consider a recommendation for adoption of the Historic Preservation Element of the General Plan and voted (VOTE COUNT) to recommend its adoption to the City Council: NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOllOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the Historic Preservation Element complies with the requirements of Government Code Section 65302(e), as provided in Government Code Article 10.5. SECTION 2. The document attached hereto marked Exhibit A is hereby approved and adopted as the Historic Preservation Element of the General Plan of the City of Santa Monica. SECTION 3. Pursuant to the Santa Monica Municipal Code, Article IX, Chapter 1, Subchapter 9.04.20, Part 9.04.20.18, Section 9.04.20.18.050 the City Council does hereby adopt the Historic Preservation Element of the Santa Monica ~l!l 0052 General Plan. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
