A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA REVISING
THE PUBLIC RIDE FEE FOR THE SANTA MONICA PIER CAROUSEL
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica operates the Santa Monica Pier Carousel
for the public's enjoyment and benefit; and
WHEREAS, City staff has carefully analyzed the current carousel ride fee and
proposes that the ticket prices be adjusted to more accurately reflect the carousel's
rising operational and maintenance costs, while remaining competitive with ticket prices
of other carousels; and
WHEREAS, the Pier Restoration Corporation Board of Directors recommends
the revision of the current ride fee,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1. Effective September 1, 2002, the public ride fee for the Santa
Monica Pier Carousel shall be set at 50 cents for children six to fourteen years of age,
$1.00 for adults fifteen years of age and older, and children five years of age and under
are permitted to ride for free when accompanied by a ticketed adult.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
