A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA REVISING
THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR THE RENTAL OF THE SANTA MONICA PIER CAROUSEL
WHEREAS, In March of 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution 8000 (CCS)
establishing a Carousel User Fee Schedule for the rental of the Santa Monica Pier
Carousel for private events and filming. Since that time, the types and numbers of
private rentals of the Carousel have increased, as have the administrative and
maintenance costs required to facilitate such rentals.
WHEREAS, City staff has carefully analyzed the current user fee schedule and
proposes that the rental fees be adjusted to more accurately reflect the Carousel's rising
administrative and maintenance costs, while remaining competitive with rental rates of
comparable event and filming facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Pier Restoration Corporation Board of Directors recommends
the revision of the current Carousel rental schedule,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Effective September 1, 2002, the Santa Monica Pier Carousel User
Fee Schedule:

Shoots after midnight will be assessed additional carousel staff charges.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
