A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE
A GRANT AGREEMENT AND RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH THE STATE
OF CALlFORt'rIlA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY AND THE VENICE FAMILY CLINIC
FOR ACCEPTANCE AND RECEIPT OF GRANT FUNDING FOR THE VENICE
FAMILY CLlNIIC SAFE AND HEALTHY NEWBORNS INFANT CAR SEAT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the State of California Office ofTraffic Safety (''OTS'') has approved the
Venice Family Clinic's grant application for the Safe and Healthy Newborns Infant Car Seat
Program in the amount of $53,000 as part of OTS's FY 2001-03 Grant Cycle; and
WHEREAS, the OTS conditions the use of grant funds in accordance with their
policies which require a Resolution from the City Council accepting the grant money as
fiscal receiver fbr the Venice Family Clinic.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica hereby authorizes the
City Manager .to negotiate and execute a grant agreement and any other related
documents with the Venice Family Clinic (VFC) and OTS forthe acceptance and receipt of
grant funding for the VFC Safe and Healthy Newborn Infant Car Seat Program.
SECTION 2. The City shall forward a certjfied copy of this resolution to OTS for its
processing.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
