WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa MOllica (the "Agency") IS
engaged In actIvltles necessary to carry out and Implement the Redevelopment Plans for the Santa
MOllica DowntO\"TI Redevelopment Project, Eanhquake Recovery Redevelopment ProJect, Ocean
Park Redevelopment Project 1 (a) and Ocean Park Redevelopment Project l(b) (the "Redevelopment
Plans "), which Redevelopment Plans have been adopted by the City Counnl of the City of Santa
MOllica, and
WHEREAS, the Agency owns and shall from tIme to tIme own real property wnhm the
Santa Monica Downtown Redevelopment Project area, Earthquake Recovery Redevelopment
Project area, Ocean Park Redevelopment Project lea) area and Ocean Park Redevelopment Project
l(b) area (the "Agency Property"), and
WHEREAS, III order to carry out and Implement the Redevelopment Plans, It IS necessary
for the Agency to, from tlme to time, negotIate and enter mto agreements for the management,
mamtenance and use of Agency Property, Illcludmg, but not limIted to, tIeback hcense agreements,
shon-term leases and rental agreements, and
WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code SectIon 33400 proVIdes that the Agency may rent,
mamtain, manage, operate, repair and clear Agency Property
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of
Santa Momca as follows
The Agency hereby finds and determmes that the Agency's use of ItS authonty under
Health and Safety Code Section 33400 IS necessary to carry out and Implement the
Redevelopment Plans
2 The Executive Director of the Agency (or designee) IS hereby authonzed, on behalf
of the Agency, to negotiate and execute all documents and agreements necessary and
appropnate for the temporary management, mamtenance and use of Agency
Property, including, but not limIted to, tieback license agreements, short-term leases
and rental agreements, and to administer the Agency's obligatIOns, responsIbilIties
and duties to be performed thereunder.
