A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
OF THE CITY OF SAi"\.;'T A MONICA
APPROVING THE IMPLEMENTA nON OF THE ~UNICIP AL POOL
REPLACEMENT PROJECT AND MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS
PURSUANT TO HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 33445
\VHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the CIty of Santa Momca (the "Agency") has
prepared a Redevelopment Plan for the Santa Momca Earthquake Recovery Redevelopment Project
(the "Redevelopment Plan") wIuch would result m the allocatIOn of taxes from the Project Area to
the Agency for the purposes ofredeveJopment. and
WHEREAS, the mtent of the Redevelopment Plan IS, m part, to provIde for and faclhtate the
repair, restoratlOn andJorreplacement of faclhtles damaged as a result of a dIsaster and to perform
specIfic actIOns necessary to prevent or mItIgate agamst the effects of a dIsaster, and
WHEREAS. the Agency proposes to asSIst WIth the cost of constructIOn and replacement of
the MunICIpal Pool and related bUlldmgs and support faCIlItIes (the ''ProJecC), whIch are located on
the Santa Momca College Campus wlthm the Santa Momca Earthquake Recovery Redevelopment
Project and were damaged by the 1994 Northndge Earthquake, and
VlHEREAS, the CIty and Agency have prepared a ReImbursement Agreement to proVide a
means of carrymg out the Project, and
WHEREAS, SectIon 33445(a) of the Health and Safety Code authonzes a redevelopment
agency, WIth the consent of the legIslatIVe body and If the agency and the leglslauve body make
certam determmatlOns specIfied m SectIOn 33445, to pay all or part of the cost of mstaIlatlOn and
constructIon of any pubhcIy owned Improvement, and
WHEREAS, SectlOn 33679 excludes from Its reqUIrements pubhc1y-O\\<ned parkmg
faCIlItIes
NOW, THEREFORE, THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF Sfu'HA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS
SECTION I The Agency hereby finds and deten:nmes
(1) that the proposed Improvements are of benefit to the Project Area.
(2) that no reasonable means of financmg the improvements other than that set forth m the
(3) that the payment of funds for the nnprovements ~lll asSist the recovery from. and the ehrmnatlOn
of one or more of the condltlOns resultlllg from. the 1994 Northndge Earthquake disaster,
(4) that the payment of funds for the Improvements \\<111 assist III ehmmatlon of one or more
bhghtlllg conditions lllslde the Project Area by asSlstlllg m the ehmmatlon of one or more of the
conditIOns resultmg from the 1994 Northndge Earthquake disaster, and
(5) that the Project IS conSistent With the ImplementatlOn plan adopted pursuant to Section 33490
SECTION 2 The Se.cretary of the Agency shall certify the adoption of this Resolution and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be m full force and effect
