(Housing Authority Series)
RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA TO APPROVE "SECTION 8 - HOUSING
ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS PROGRAM APPLICATION FOR
EXiSTING HOUSING"
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Monica adopted a Housing Assistance Plan
in its appl ication for Title I Community Development Block Grant funds, approved
for the current year, which included 225 units of Section 8 Existing Housing In
its current year goal; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
has invited Public Housing Agencies in Los Angeles County to submit applications
for Section 8 Existing Housing; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
has stated that applications must conform to approved Housing Assistance Plans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA DOES HEREBY APPROVE THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR ADDITIONAL SECTION
8 EXIST'N~ UNITS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. One Hundred one-bedroom eYlsting units for the elderly
and one hundred two-bedroom units for smal I families, inasmuch as large family
units are prohibitive In the City of Santa Monica under the HUD rent ceil ing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THIS RESOLUTION TAKE EFFECT IMMEDIATELY.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 14th day of February, 1978.
