RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA" CALlFORNIA,REAFFIRr1ING ITS SJPPOKT OF
H.F.H., LTD. AND RECOM~1ENDI~G TOTHE STATE ~_Dr'i!"'IISSION
THAT THE APPEAL 3E GRANTED AND A PERMIT SE ISSUED TO
H.F .H. 1 LTD.
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency Members have reviewed the plans for
the Ocean Park Redevelopment Project for which grading and building permits
were issued to n.F.H., Ltd. by the CIty of Santa Monica In January, 1973, and
WHEREAS, the Agency has considered those plans in light of the language
and spirit of the Coastal Zone Conservation Act; and
WHEREAS, the Agency has heretofore expended millions of dollars in
furtherance of the Redevelopment Projects of which the private construction
proposed by H.F.H., Ltd. is the culmination; and
WHEREAS, publiC facilities and publiC utilities were provided many years
ago to provide for private development equal or greater In magnitude to de-
velopment contemplated by H.F.H., Ltd.; and
WHEREAS. the Redevelopment Agency has Interest accruing because of
unsold and undeveloped land, and
WHEREAS, the private development contemplated by H.F.H., Ltd. would
provide substantial additional property taxes to the Redevelopment Agency,
the City and other local taxing agencies, and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency has concluded said Project is fully
compatible with the objectIves of the Coastal Zone ConservatJon Act; and
WHEREAS, the develo?Nent would be an attractive and Vital addition
to the Ocean Park community and the City of Santa Monica of which it is
a pa r t.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MON I CA, CALI FORN lA, that:
I. The Redevelopment Agency hereby reaffirms its suP?ort or the
H.F.H., Ltd. A?pllcation for a Permit,
2. The Redevelopment Agency recom~ends that the State Co~~isslon
grant the H.F.H., Ltd. appeal from the Regional Commission denial of a
permit for H.F.H., Ltd. for parcels 2 and 5 and that H.F.H., Ltd. be
issued a permit for Parcels 2 and 5.
