WHEREAS, on September 11, 2001 an unprecedented and brutal attack on
American lives and property occurred; and
WHEREAS, rational and civilized people of al! faiths and nationalities deplore such
acts of terrorism; and
WHEREAS, lives are at stake both here and abroad,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOllOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Monica does resolve and declare
the City's full support of the men and women of our armed forces who are engaged in the
battle against terrorism based upon the September 11,2001 attack on the United States.
SECT!Of'.J 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shail be in fuil force and effect.
