RESOLUTION NO. 9701 (CCS)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A GRANT
AWARD FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING
UNDER THE CAREER-CRIMINAL APPREHENSION PROGRAM STATE OF THE
ART PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Governor of the State of California have
approved a grant for the above Career-Criminal Apprehension Program State-of-the-Art
Project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning has been
delegated the responsibility to administer the Project; and
WHEREAS, the Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning requires the
governing body of a grant recipient to certify by resolution its approval of the application
for and acceptance of the Career Criminal Apprehension Program State-of-the-Art
Project grant award; and
WHEREAS, the City will enter into a contract with the State of California to use
the grant award to purchase CrimeView mapping software and to develop a software
interface between the Police Department's Automated Mobile Field Reporting System
and the FileNet document library for the subject projects;

NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Santa Monica City Council authorizes the City Manager to
accept Governor's Office of Criminal Justice Planning grant funds in the amount of
$98,119.
SECTION 2. The Santa Monica City Council certifies that the City of Santa
Monica has reviewed, understands and agrees to the provisions contained in the grant
Certification of Assurance of Compliance.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and empowered to execute
in the name of the City of Santa Monica all necessary forms hereto for the purposes of
securing payments and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the Grant
Award.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
