Drain System. <`.>` ~ =='~~~"~~~~gi The plans and specifications far the widening of ESontana Avenue from 7th Street to 21st Street have been eompletad and are ready to be Piled with the State Division of Highways for review and approval and authorization to call for bids. wa reeamffiand that the subject plans and specifications not be submitted to the State until one of the following conditions has been fulfillads {a) City Couneil decides not to adopt an ordinance requiring public utilities to remove pole lines from certain streets when they are to be widened, or (b} .City Council adopts said ordinance, holds public hearing thereunder, serves notice on utilities to remove poles, and utilities indicate they will comply, or (c) City Council adopts said ordinance, holds public hearing thereunder, serves notice on utilities to remove poles, utilities refuse to comply with notice, City sues for compliance, Court rules on legality of ardinaaee. In order to schedule the work for completion before the next winter rains, plans should ba filed with the State not later than June I5. This could ba done only if City Couneil decides not later than the meeting of June 14 not to adopt such an ordinance. Otherwise, the scheduling of the widening and storm drain construction should be deferred until action indicated under (b) or (e} is fulfilled and in no avant net until the spring of 19560 ~9K~f a ccs R.
