SUBJECT: Contract No. 2051 {C,C.S,) Modification of Traffic Signals
ATTN: Doug McAteer, City Engineer
Dear Sir:
There are considerable costs involved in our waiting for your decision on
the islands for the subject project. During the interim we have to maintain
barricades which eost approx. 20C each per day. In addition there is the
insurance to cover the project until its completion. This cost for property
damage and public liability on this type of insurance is .015% of the contract
or $5,09 per day. The 17 barricades C~ 208 each $3.40 + the insurance C~ $5.09
per day results in a total cost of $8.49, which does not include any mark-up.
In addition there is an on-off charge to cover lost time in moving off the job,
From May 16th to June 25th {40days) the delay cost amounts to $449,60 plus the
on-off charge of $50.00 making a total to date of $389,60,
In addition to the above eosts we have interest charges for materials and labor
used to date that has not been paid for by you, plus the 10'/o retention you
wield, This job could have been completed three to five 4ieeks ago had we not
been stopped by the City of Santa Monica,
We look to you for reimbursement of the $8.49 per day costs as long as the
delay continues.
Very truly yours,
C, T,~ F„ Inc.
