This report recommends that the city Council approve the attached
resolution to establish a parking zone for the physically
handicapped at the requested location.
Background
On May 27, 1980, the City Council adopted an ordinance to enable
the establishment of parking zones for the physically
handicapped. Under this ordinance a physically handicapped zone
may be established by a resolution of the City Council upon
request by any individual and verification by the City Parking
and Traffic Engineer.
staff has received a request from a resident for the installation
of a physically handicapped zone adjacent to a multi-family
development at 855 lOth street (corner of Idaho Avenue). Staff
has reviewed the request and finds that the zone meets all the
appropriate requirements.

RESOLUTION NUMBER

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
ESTABLISHING A PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED
ZONE ADJACENT TO 855 10TH STREET
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica
has enacted an ordinance enabling indiv1duals to request parking
zones for physically handicapped persons: and
WHEREAS, the City has received a request for a physically
hand1capped zone; and
WHEREAS, the Parking and Traffic Engineer has considered
the request and concluded, based upon the factors stated in
Munic1pal Code Section 3366A, that an additional physically
handicapped zone may be installed at the requested location,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1.
A physically handicapped 20ne is hereby
established adjacent to 855 lOth Street (corner of Idaho Avenue).
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
